I know it's hard to do, but you have to set your perceptions aside and stay objective about it. Believe me, I fall into that mode of thinking too from time to time. Sometimes when I get something in my head, even if it's a proven product, I won't use it. On the other hand, I wont poo poo it to others because I know it's proven.
I never said that I thought it was a premium media.I do know enough that when something does not sound, smell or act right that something is wrong. The filter being changed to a different manufacturer so far seems to have made a difference and that is what matters.WIX may be a very good filter but I have also read on the board that some dont like them.A company spending tons of money on R&D does not mean that the product is the best, sometimes it only means that they are marginal and the R&D is to find out the cheapest way to make the product so that they can make the largest amount of return on the product.WIX may be one of the best but that also does not mean that they dont have a few bad ones in the bunch,as Gary was saying. On another note, the ADBV is of no concern on the filter in question as far as keeping oil in the filter. The filter is almost verticle with the ADBV facing up.
