Aerosol Tire Sprays?

Anyone else use these?

I tried to find Stoners More Shine, Less Time at the local Advance, but was unsuccessful, so I picked up some of their house brand "tire shine" in the 14.5oz can.

I've never used this kind of stuff before (used whatever foam product mom had around when I cleaned cars in the past) but it seems quite versatile in that you can use it for more than just tires...

Seems very sticky though, and if you get it on your hands, the liquid will wipe right off, but leave an incredibly slick coating behind.
 
I've found that these tire shine products really do work pretty well. One word of caution, don't confuse the tire shine for window cleaner. I didn't and I'll tell you that tire shine is a pain to get of the inside of your windshield!!!

Yeah! I sprayed some on my rubber trim and got a little overspray on the windshield. Thought it would come off right off with the washer fluid and blades, but that just made it worse!

I don't know if this is considered good practice or not, but I sprayed the stuff on my tires, hub caps (not full caps, just little black covers on center part of wheel), complete engine compartment and rubber trim!
 
I tried More Shine Less Time recently to see how it would work and it reminded me how much I don't like aerosol spray protectants. It went on unevenly (somewhat blotchy) and overspray got all over the wheels and some of the paint. It held up about as long as the better tire dressings but rain killed it, as it does to most protectants.

The amount of time I saved with the aerosol I wasted wiping off the overspray. All 4 tires looked differently so I can't say I liked or didn't like the look. I dunno.... it's not a product type for me but I'm glad I tried it. If you're interested in More Shine Less Time, its available at Pep Boys for about $4.00.
 
I've purchased More Shine Less Time by the case for about three years now. I've experienced the exact opposite of bretfraz's findings. I'm not disputing your findings, just offering mine.

First off the spray pattern itself is very defined and I've yet to overspray due to the fine edged pattern and never had to wipe anything down.

One coating gives a dull sheen, two a glossy sheen, three a fakey very gloosy sheen. It lasts for 2 1/2 - 3 weeks for me, rain or not, but I use it every time the car is washed. It will also detail an engine compartment or any black plastics such as fog light covers or black plastic trim. The only time it has come out uneven is when I goofed and didn't apply it evenly, the can must be upright at all times. It is $35 a case delivered to your door if ordered from Stoner.

Don't forget to roll the car forward (or backwards) to get the bottoms of the tires. You'll sure notice it later if you do forget!

BTW The product does not sling off and can be applied directly to wet tires, it displaces the water and still adheres.

No, I don't work for or sell Stoner's products. I wish I did though.

How long does a case last? We just got a new car for our son, so we have 3 cars that we generally wash and treat the tires. Right now we are just using Armor All on the tires, but if this product last 2-3 weeks, I would like to try it. I'm cheap, so buying in quantity doesn't bother me, but a case seems like a lot.

I generally buy 2 cases per year. I take care of two cars and use the product on much more than just the tires. I have given quite a few cans away to neighbors also that wanted to know how I kept my tires looking so good.

If you buy it at the store it's $3.50-$4.00 per can plus tax. The case (12 cans) is $35.00 delivered.

Why not buy one at the store and if works for you then spring for a case?

Thanks. I got the impression from their web site that they only sold through the internet. There is a Autozone, O'Reilly's, and Walmart in the area. Will any of these carry it?
 
I found a Pep Boys that I can stop at on my way home from work.

Thanks for your comments on this product, and I'll let you know what I think of it.
 
The Stoner's tire spray is great IMO! I love the appearance this product gives my tires. I do get overspray though.
 
I went to Pep Boys, but they didn't have any of the tire treatment. They did have the Stoner glass cleaner, so I bought a can. I also bought Meguire's tire treatment, which I liked.

The glass cleaner works very well, and so I just ordered a case of the tire treatment yesterday.

From your suggestions, if I liked the Meguire's I'm sure I'll like the Stoners.
 
I have an '05 Frontier and noticed that Nissan has issued a TSB for tire dressings

TSB

It says An aftermarket chemical product called "tire dressing" is sometimes used on tires. When the tire dressing is applied, it may combine with an anti-ozonant compound (applied by tire manufacturers) to form a new compound that could stain vehicle paint. The paint stains occur if the wet tire dressing /anti-ozonant compound slings onto the vehicle paint when the vehicle is driven.

Has anyone ever notice this?

ArmorAll is great for wheelwells if you go off-road.

Coat ArmorAll all inside your clean wheelwells, and they'll be easier to clean after you get them all caked with dirt and mud.
 
The Stoner's More Shine in Less Time arrived last evening and I put it on my tires.

First impression is that it is not as shiny as the Meguire's product, but I like the appearance better (Meguires was too shiny).

We'll see how it long it lasts.

That sounds exactly like my experience with Stoner's MSLT. The overspray on the paint and wheels was the killer for me, I refuse to use this product now.

Anyone local to the Philadelphia, PA area want a few free cans of the stuff?
