I wouldn't take the chance and assume they will get it right the 2nd time.

I would put formula shell in it, great oil at a great 2.50 price point (Menards), that's what I run in my civic it burns 1 every 1-2k, the only reason I tried maxlife was because of the 7 dollar rebate on 5 quarts.

Voa of Formula Shell

Er, the new 3.6L engine is made in Trenton, Michigan, not in Mexico. And I've honestly never heard of any other major issues with engines that come out of Mexico plants.

id say bring it to the dealership and have them start noting down the consumption.
You can increase your consumption by leaving your car in a lower gear. This makes your engine run at higher rpms and create more vacuum, thus more oil consumption.

jeep has always had major problems that they wont claim responsibility for. the 2000-2003 wranglers had heads that would crack and allow coolant into the oil, if not caught quick enough the coolant contamination would ruin the whole engine.

then their 2005-2006 wrangler had problems with their oil pumps and would fail, again if not found quick enough would ruin the whole engine.

jeeps seem to always have 1 major problem thats not bad enough for a recall but bad enough to screw over alot of people.
