They have construction identical to Purolator, with a possible difference being a little less filter media in the AAP filter.
I had one on my VW GTI 1.8T for roughly 7k miles. When I changed the oil a few weeks back, I cut open the AAP filter. There was nothing unusual to note. It looked like every Purolator I'd seen before, and it looked like it could have easily gone 2-3 times as long as I ran it.
Bottom line, IMHO, the AAP TG filters are very good. I wouldn't hesitate to use another one.
