Since my Toyota is a M/T the radiator's built in trans cooler is unused. Could I get an oil filter sandwich adapter and run the lines off of that onto the trans cooler portion of the radiator? The car uses a Purolator 14477 filter. Any idea on what adapter I would need?

Honestly that looks right but I'd be wondering what the pessimistic arguements are on doing such a thing. I'd expect the trans cooler to handle nowhere near the pressure the oil pump puts out though, no idea if an AT is hundreds of PSI or if the cooler flow is just a low pressure return to the pan.

I think the connections could be made, but judging by the hoses and fittings on my MB, it is some heavy duty stuff. Not just some hose barbs on fuel line. My cars also have thermostat controls built in.
normally I'm not a flow restriction nazi, but I would definitely worry about that here.
my old 90 deville has both a trans oil cooler and engine oil cooler in the radiator. The engine oil cooler lines were larger than the trans cooler lines. I think it was 5/16 for trans and 3/8 for engine oil, but don't quote me it has been several years since I put the new radiator in. To my knowledge it did not have a thermostat in the engine oil cooler circuit.
