Too many close calls...

After a bit of research I decided on the United Pacific LED plate frame which has the 3rd brake light, a plate light and the ability to light the CHMSL at a lowered intensity as a running light. I only connected the brake circuit, but also grounded the plate light if I choose to add it in the future. My criteria was quality, brightness, appearance and reversibility with this option requiring only a 1/4" hole and grommet behind the plate. I jumpered the brake light circuit at the socket.

Good option for anyone looking to add a 3rd brake light to their vintage toys. Tough to get a good pic of lit brake lamps...

A bed rack is going on my Tacoma soon. It will undoubtedly interfere with the CHMSL. I’ve also tapped the existing oem light leads and put at exterior connector on it to power one I’ll add to the rack. FMVSS-108 happens to be the standard for these lamps - and I’d wager that anything is better than nothing as we all look for that center lamp now.
