While I agree in general RE: steel fuel tanks and rust issue, I would not agree RE: if manufacturer felt it needed a filter part, citing that aggressive cost cutting measures @ play with B&S...and there's really the need for at least a mesh filter in their line of side-draft, lower emissions flathead engines such as 500 ~725 (with 675 being the most common one out there).
