Talking to the R&D Manager at Liqui-Moly, I was recommended their Synthoil High Tech 5W-40 for my Grand Marquis. I was told the reason behind this is the add pack found in the 5W-40.
Currently, I'm using their Synthoil Longtime 0W-30, which meets the same specifications as Synthoil 5W-40 - SM/CF and A3/B4-04. The 0w30 is recommended for applications requiring MB 229.3, VW 502/505 and BMW LL-98. The 5W-40 is recommended for the same applications plus Porsche A40.
Considering both products meet the same specs, would the add packs not be similar?
