ACDelco Gold 42-mo Date Code

I received a 42 mo AcDelco battery this morning from our wholesale supplier. The battery does not have any date code. The top of the battery has “K05ER” stamped into the case.

Any idea on how to identify the month of production?

The battery had 12.36v when tested so it wasn’t fully charged.

I already connected it to the 10A charger for a few hours and tested it. It is fine.

Is that the Hankook battery?

I'd guess K means the year and 05 is May, but that's just a guess, if the top is the date code

The side marking looks like 0X20AOAD

K0 is october 2020. Letter is the month A-M skipping I, number is the last digit of the year

Here is my new one from January. There is a date to the right of the 42 month sticker. Mine is 03/20. You have one too, but I can’t make it out. The place I bought it said the warranty starts from the date of sale. My receipt is the warranty evidence. Mine was 12.67 V. I charged it to 13.03.

Is that the Hankook battery?

It is the AC Delco 36 month Advantage line of batteries that are made by Hankook. These could be as well, but I don't know that.

I also found documentation that the AC Delco 36 month Professional line is made by Clarios/Johnson Controls.

I’m thinking it’s when the label was printed and has nothing to do when the battery was made.

Your date code is "G 021R". It is found on the sticker on top of the battery.

Your battery is the "G" series (Gold?), made in February 2021, in factory "R" (no idea which one that is).

Just bought one from Amazon ($181) shipped one day later-date code G 111 R means it was made November 2021

The sideways sticker always has the 03/20 which is not the "build date"

SOH: the health status of the battery.
SOC: the state of charge.
RES: the internal resistance of the battery.
