the op is wasting time and money on this transmission.
the clutches are shredding and the filter is full.
shut it off and some will fall away only to return and block it again.
rebuild it and add a magnefine to the cooler line.
the filter is non serviceable in these.
you replace it when you rebuild.

i realized that when i backed up.

I'v only seen the local Taiwan notchback version (Subaru Tutto, IIRC) but it looked pretty inline to me.
