AC Delco Professional (48PG) Date Code

I bought my battery In late November/early December of 2018. The date code says Feb 2019. Do they pre-date these to allow for time for transportation and storage? I got it from a pretty busy AC Delco supplier, so it obviously didn't sit very long.

According to some dude on Reddit that allegedly sells AC Delco batteries it's a common thing, seems a little weird, but I guess if the warranty is tied to the date code it makes sense they do it that way.

The person cited claiming to sell delco batteries is full of ****. The date code isnt in your picture. Battery date code will be cast into the case somewhere and will be a letter followed by a number M1 would be December 2021.

Perhaps there's a serial code with the actual date of manufacture but for warranty purposes the code is printed on the label

Warranty date code is what is to the right of the P which in the picture is to the left of the 48PG. i.e. P029R The manufacturing date may be stamped into the case somewhere but that's just for internal use in case there is some recall.
