AC Delco PF457G versus P1 PL15436 Efficiency?

I believe the efficiency specs on these two filters are:
PF457G = 98% at 30 microns
PL15436 = 99.9% at 40 microns

Is it possible to extrapolate and compare the specs of these two at the same micron rating to know which one is more efficient?

Changing the oil on an '06 Cobalt, trying to pick out a filter.

First, what is the source for the Delco efficiency?

There is no technical way to extrapolate (that I know of) unless you have data points at other percentages but my educated guess is ... draw. They are about equal. Go to the secondary factors; which has the most capacity (most media), which has the silicon ADBV?

The Cobalt takes a cartridge filter. No ADBV. Trying a Bosch on the next oil change for the 2008 G5.

I had looked on RockAuto, AAP, and a few other sites for the efficiency numbers on the Delco. The most common line I had read was:

98 percent single-pass filtering efficiency at 25-30 microns for excellent filtering capabilities

Granted, that could be the general AC Delco efficiency not the specific for PF457G. I did just check AZ now and it reads "Greater than 30 Micron/97%"

Yeah, we haven't seen much on ACDelco... why I asked.

Barring reliable info, I usually go for what I know. Assuming all other criteria are met.

Thanks for the feedback Jim. I'll have to do the side by side visual inspection at AAP one night. P1s are usually my go to but the spacing on one of the ones I picked up was wide at the seam.

Probably makes no difference in reality but it prompted me to extend my search.

Also the Delcos for the Cruze look good, and are one of the few I can find reasonably priced. Guess that has made me more open minded

I've used the ACDelco filters for a long time. They hold up nicely.

That difference in spacing is nothing to worry about. Now if it gets huge like this where the oil flow can fold the pleat down flat and tear the ends away, then you have something to be concerned about.
