Hey guys, my parts supplier ran out of Wix, so I opted for an AC Delco unit for a 2005 Honda Civic. When I got the part, I noticed that there's quite a large distance between the gasket surface and where the thread starts. See the pic below to get my drift.
The OE Honda filter (made by Honeywell) I know has a lip where the threads start and the lip is parallel with the gasket. Part# I have is AC PF1127, so same size as the Fram PH7317.
I've never seen a filter with a base plate that deep from the gasket. Am I okay using it? Has anyone used this filter on their Hondas with success? I'm gonna do an oil service for a friend and don't want this thing leaking or to blow off!
Thanks in advance.
