If you trust the Ecore design, that's great. I'm happy for you. I just don't trust it. And I won't use it as long as I have a choice.
It is the same center tube design as the increasingly popular cartridge filters. It would be hard to miss it when you changed it if one of them imploded. They certainly should give as much support as the filter where the metal tube doesn't run fool length of the element.
I think there was some discussion of metal particles getting into the filtered oil from the perforations in the metal tubes.
Yeah, maybe they are cheaper. So is moving the factory to china. Ecore, American engineers working smarter to keep jobs in America.
