Whenever AC compressor is on, it sounds like a little diesel engine. This started after my entire AC system was rebuilt at a Firestone station (Compressor, Condenser, several lines, etc). I took the car back to them, and they said it sounds normal, but my ear tell me otherwise. In ideas what could be wrong?

Some aftermarket compressors sound different or it maybe a different type than OEM. There maybe nothing wrong. Does it work well?
I would hate to say bring it back and complain about what maybe totally normal noise.
Get a second opinion first.

What kind of compressor? Certain designs make more or less noise. Also rebuilt vs remanufactured vs new can make a difference.
High pressure will cause this, and so will a worn compressor.
