Aaron Rogers...America's Hero

Here's another thread destined for a lock.

As football players go some might call Aaron Rogers America's hero after the game today. There are all different kinds of heros. Sport heros, Police hero's, Military heros, Super heros, and meatball heros to name a few.

Green Bay is going to have a tough time in Seattle. I hate the thought of Seattle winning, but I think that's what the outcome will be. I hope I'm wrong.

Thanks demarpaint, for a good post. Certainly Aaron Rogers is a FOOTBALL hero. Like you say, there are different kinds of heroes. I think that should be obvious, but oh well.

I like that Green Bay won, but they already lost in the regular season in Seattle and my best guess is that they will lose in Seattle again in the NFC Championship Game.

My Denver Broncos embarrassed themselves but obviously the Indy Colts were a better team. Still a little hard for me to believe that a quarterback who is 6'6" tall, 230 pounds, and runs a 4.8 40 yard dash can't run 5 yards for a first down when there is no defender probably within 20 yards of him. Oh well. But my guess is the Patriots will win the AFC Championship Game. And probably those are the two teams that should be in the Super Bowl. Seattle and New England.

And I still have no idea who this guy is. Am I supposed to know?

He is the guy in the insurance commercials.

I appreciate the reply. I watch so little TV, that I've never seen the commercials in question. I also couldn't care less about football, so I had no idea who he was.

I found out that Peyton Manning was playing for about a month with a serious injury. He could not have run for that first down very easily, and he was struggling to throw accurately.

The broncos during the season went to more of a running attack. One reason for that was probably the emergence of C J Anderson at running back. But also the Broncos wanted more of a balanced attack and Manning was injured.

He played for a month with the injury. I have more respect for him now than ever before.

The news that is coming out is that he played for a month with a torn right quadriceps muscle.

Not sure about the hero part, but he is a nice guy...

Not everyone in this country has to be a gridiron fan.

I have never seen that as a requirement for being/becoming a U.S. citizen ('good' or otherwise), although sometimes it does seem that it is a prerequisite, judging by the fanaticism of the masses.

What makes him America's Hero? Was there an article written that proclaimed this? I've heard nothing on the Green Bay news about him being a hero.

And it's Rodgers, not Rogers.

And I may be biased, but I see them actually going into Seattle and winning. Their defense is not the sieve that is was last year, or even what it was in week 1 at Seattle. And they finally have a legit 3rd receiver to go against a second string cornerback.
