Going to be in Detroit next week for a couple days, nice weather too.

Looking for a few things to do to fill the trip out.

Wife mentioned Greenfield Village but it appears to be closed?
Last time we were in Detroit it was members only day .

Also how likely to get mugged if wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey? 😂

Only if they are playing the Lions, lol.

Greenfield Village/Henry Ford are great choices- love going there. There is a cool auto museum next store to that as well. In honesty there are always things to do- just depends what events are going on. What days were you looking at?

Think there are quite a few members who live in the area as well……

There are great cemeteries with automobile industry pioneers, and Motown music giants.

For example, the Dodge Brothers mausoleum. in Woodlawn cemetery.

Having dinner with some locals would be nice... :)
I grew up in Ottawa Hills/Toledo, so I've been to Detroit maybe 20 times growing up. The Henry Ford Museum is a must and there are a lot of things in it besides cars.
I been to the the Henry Ford before but not greenfield village its either closed.. or terrible weather.

Greenfield Village is temp closed, but the Henry Ford Museum is open.
Dodge Mansion in Rochester Hills and Ford estate in Grosse Pointe.
Detroit Zoo, Hitsville USA (Motown), Belle Isle (aquarium, museums, conservatory)
Casinos (Detroit & Windsor), hipster Royal Oak/Ferndale, shopping at Somerset Collection
Fox and Fisher Theatre, DSO etc….
10-4 on the Steelers jersey

The first thing you can't miss is the first ride out of there!

I would sooo love to visit the bad parts of town with abandoned factories and large buildings.

Very unsafe and not a good idea.

I would pay an off duty police officer to give me a 3 day tour of Detroit, Im not kidding.

Greek Town has some decent restaurants. Take the tunnel to Windsor Canada and get some Canadian Bacon and a Labatt/Moosehead Beer.

Cruise around town on the people mover (elevated train) to get a birds eye view of downtown. Visit the Renaissance Center and see where a bunch of movies were filmed. Action Jackson, Collision Course, Killshot, Bird on a wire, etc.

I would rather visit an unearthed septic tank!

While funny, we got the your opinion on Detroit from the first response.
Could we keep to constructive posts in here please.
