That's just crazy talk! He took the life of another. In the land of the free we can do just about anything possible without punishment as long as its 'an accident'. All I have to say if I kill someone is I was aiming at a fixed object beside them and accidentally hit the victim. Bam! 1 year in jail is all I get.

Personally, I'd look more into the case. He was a marine so he should be well versed in weapons. Maybe he's crazy and wanted her dead and had a very good excuse. What good is a year? If he should go to jail it should be for life. If not just slap his wrist and let him do it to his next child.

I suspect he demonstrated that his life was an emotional [censored] already, and probably would be for the rest of his life. I'd imagine a judge would take that into consideration.

They should throw the key away on this guy. This is pure reckless endangerment and it cost a young girl her life.

He'll probably get his in prison.
