A Different Service Champ OF4622

Not too long ago after I did an oil change on a 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo at 10% Oil Life, I encountered another Service Champ OF4622. The difference? It's not made by Fram nor by Champion Labs. Let me show you.

This is the oil filter in question:

Here's the date code or serial number on top:

After a cut with the exhaust pipe cutter, let's take a look:

Here's the baseplate and its anti-drainback valve, although the latter was a bit stiffer than the Fram PH7317s:

I think it showed on it that it was made by the Charles Hina company.

Made by First Brands (aquired from CHC in 2022), who owns Champion Labs as well as FRAM. These are just the basic Made in China factory ones. The look good to me.

I just called Service Champ & the guy on the phone explained.... "I don't know the answer to that question".
I did get a minor response about them moving away from Champ Labs since the pandemic era.

Interesting end cap material. Seems to work OK.
