Luckily doesn't look like the lone star tick.
It can cause a lifelong allergy to red meat.
I‘m not sure I’d survive that!

Are you worried about the ones you are not finding?

It seems to be an amalgamation of errors on my part.

I likely got this mowing the lawn. I tried the whole no-mow-May thing this year, so the lawn (and weeds) were pretty high upon the first mow of the season. I stupidly did not use any spray on myself, but wore tall boots, long socks, pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

I did shower immediately after mowing, but I usually thoroughly check myself every time I come from outside…usually in the shower. I’m out of shape and had (found out the next day) Covid, so I skipped this step.

Stupid all around. The positive is my lawn has never been in such good shape after the first mow. Nice and green.

My wife the RN says you should absolutely see a doctor about that.

My nurse SIL said the same thing. I’m doing a couple of things:

1. I‘m going to video-com a Dr and get on antibiotics asap, if they deem it necessary. I’ve got Covid right now, so I can’t see my PCP at this point. Luckily my insurance covers tele-health.

2. I’m going to send the tick to PA’s tick lab for the $100 analysis. I’ve had many ticks over the years ( I’m lucky I’ve never had one stuck like this one in CT since I moved here) and have NEVER had one become red and sore like this. I spent most of my youth in the woods and around the local creeks, and rivers, etc so ticks are nothing new to me. Brush or pick them off and move on was our MO.

Ticks like dark areas like skinfolds and such best. If you get a bullet rash, off to the doctor you go. A bullet rash looks like the Target logo. When I got tested they found antibodies for various diseases transmitted by ticks. I never came down with any tick-borne illness but I know people who did and it can be utterly debilitating.

A good picture of our GSD that the wife took. Look closely at the second pic. That’s the pugs tongue. Lol.

Isn’t there a no politics policy in place?

This isn’t how one leads by example.
What is political? Are you looking at things through the lens you want to versus reality? This was a ship activation ceremony. That isn’t political. I was present, it was LPD 26, I happened upon it in my phone while searching for something else from that timeframe. Did I make a meme from it? Any comment at all? Nope. I thought all the Officers saluting was a neat shot.

But good job trying to make it into something it isn’t. Cripes.
