While I send my condolences as well, I can't say I ever wanted to do anything that would risk my life/health or that of those around me.
This qualifies as something that would fall in that category.

I just for the life of me can't wrap my head around the mindset of "adult" children. Something tells me she was more than likely unemployed.

Been there, done that. Outside water towers with a metal railing ladder to get to the top platform. I missed doing it in high school, so made up for it by doing it a few times in college. The climb was a bit precarious, if you slipped off it was likely fatal after the first 20 rungs on the ladder, and there were quite a few to get to the top. I doubt if any of us was sober when we climbed. This must prove the existence of god, as he had to have been looking out for us morons during those climbs.

According to family legend, I was picked up by a lineman walking down the yellow line at the ripe old age of 2 and returned to my mother. And that's just what my mother knew about. In high school we used to climb the local microwave tower. Any bridge across the river, we jumped off of . 10 feet tall and bullet proof Pure dumb luck. Emphasis on dumb

It is sad for her family and friends. I wish them peace with only good memories.

However, nature will thin the herd. Sometimes luck grants you immunity, sometimes it doesn't.

Unfortunately youth, possibly alchohol leads to risky decisions. Works out the majority of time but alas we lose someone along the way.

I am lucky my 20 yr old niece at university decided to scale a 6' fence at night because boys in her group wouldn't not realizing it was there for the 20' foot drop on the other side "only" got a broken pelvis.

A lot of stupid things are done in college by both sexes. I assume alcohol is involved in most of these stunts. Frats are also part of the problem.

Like tying a frat brother in a railroad box in WV. And having to wire him money to fly back from Chicago.

We took courses like mountaineering in HS. The climbing wall taught us proper safety and just how badly a short fall hurt.

Today's youth have very little exposure to real risk and don't understand it.
