i have been in much debate over the reuse of oil filters, enough that i want to do my own lil research....im not asking for an opinion, i want you to post if or if not you reuse oil filters and your approximate age............please

I do not reuse. My typical OCI is 10k miles in the 530i; 13k miles in the C300. Both manufacturers require you to change the filter at the time of oil change, so I do.

35

By the way, this should have been posted in the oil filter subforum.

If the mfg. does not require a new filter at every OCI, I reuse the old one. The only exception is the first OCI at which time I change the OE filter. I will also note that I use an oversize filter if one is available. FWIW-- Oldtommy 76

Never reuse the old oil filter with clean oil, even when my owners manual said I could. Why skimp on a $3 oil filter, that cleans out stuff you dont want in your engine. I am 41.

I used to re use them in the 70's. I think it was pretty common with my Father and his Fathers generation, to change the filter every other oil change.

I never re use them now.

I'm coming up on 50.

Yes, as I'm sure you are aware.

im betting/guessing that most ppl who reuse are older, you disproved so far

Older people tend to reuse them because after replacing them they have a hard time getting back up. Sorry 2Oldtommy.
