Every time I see one of these cars on the road, I am surprised at how attractive it is. Very sporty looking body style. Everything, appearance wise, just seems to blend well to me. The car seems to be popular still as the ones I see on the road are typically well cared for as though the owners really like them.
Not the best pic....in person this car looks great in my opinion. Anybody out there currently own one or has owned one?

I agree, they still look good. Unfortunately most of them are beat to [censored] and need some serious TLC.

Difficult to find a non abused example in the UK aswell

Prices dropped quickly due to insurancd costs and that attracted the cheap bling owners that think an oil change is something to be done every couple of years or not atall.

A real shame.

I always liked the look of them.

Possibly. Call your agent and ask. Sometimes the rates change from year to year merely because a bunch of people wrecked them that year.

If I was in the market for a small used coupe, I'd definitely try see if I could find one around here. Like I said, I've seen many that look in great condition.
Very attractive car and not dated looking in the slightest.

When I was in the market for a car like that it was between that and a Prelude. I drove a GT and it was nice. I wanted a GT or a GT-S and the prices were above where I was at. Even in 2006 people were asking almost $10k for 100k Celicas. I ended up with a Prelude because of the pricing. That was a great car too.

Yes...I just did some local searching on Craigslist and this car is STILL selling at high used car prices. Way over 100K miles and some of these people are asking 5 to 7k for a ten year old car!

I always liked those, and other years of the Celica coupes as well. Then Toyota went beige on us and no more affordable sporty coupes. I assume due to low sales? I did drive a BRZ (FRS) and liked that real well.

If they bring a 4-door FR-S to the market with a usable back seat that might prove irresistable.
But they'd need to stick to the formula - keep it simple, light, and affordable.

I have one, a 2000 Celica GTS 6 speed. Before I bought that in Aug 2012, I had an 01 Celica GT automatic. The stock photo in the opening post is that of an 03-05 Celica, post face lift they look like catfish to me. Also, they were rev limited to I think 7800 and had DBW. My '00 limits at 8250 and is throttle cabled.
