gearhead, taking away the Pb, which is not an issue IMO with RL, both reports were good. Chromium, tin and alum were all the same, but this report had 3k more miles on it. Iron went up a tad, as expected with the increased mileage but the Pb is a RL signature and I'm sure Terry explained it.

Fuel, coolant, dirt are the issues boys.

That is a quote from Terry above on the analysis. The results are due to those factors. Am I the only one who read that? Red Line did not cause the results, LC did not cause the results. Personally the results are as good as they are due to the use of both these products in spite of the Fuel, Coolant and Dirt Issues.

Test the viscosity of the oil in your sump. Now drain out 15%, ie 1/6 of that oil and substitute 15% of the 20wt LC20 and re-test.

What you will find is that the kinematic viscosity and Flash Point have been reduced by about 10% and the high temp, high shear viscosity has been decreased by at least that much.

Overdozing w/ LC20 may in fact de-polymerize the VI modifiers in the host lubricant and reduce oil pressure significantly.
