HI all Need alot of help here. 98 corolla VE model. About 2 years ago, i replaced my calipers, bought NAPA with brackets. Brake hoses as well. Did it myself. Old factory ones, OEM, were so shot.. Well, past few months, i notices some leeway in the brake pedal. BUt they work. Last night, driving home, the car drives, and at random, tries too stop on its own. Thiers a metal grinding noise coming from front, and a high pitch siren noise it sounds like.I took both calipers off today, and noticed thye appear beatish up. Brown dust caking on, and......both pistons did NOT go out. Both of them remained in the caliper body. ARnt they supposed too go out? And then press them in? My guess is telling me thier shot.

You have stuck pistons... Assess the damage... Maybe you can save them if you sand of rust off them...and (re)lube them (only the surface that looks out of dust boots) with ceramic paste...

If you do end up needing calipers, get the Napa Eclipse with the black anti-rust coating. They are same as Cardone Ultra smile
