A mechanics worst nightmare. if this has ever happened to you, you know that sickening feeling in the pit of your stomach.

Here is a method worth trying to remove a broken spark plug.

Yup, I have that tool, it works well. It was probably best that it was on that old iron-headed pushrod engine and not something like a Modular with the plug 6" down a hole.

Do a search on ebay for "ford sparkplug remover tool"

Regardless of make or model, that is exactly what I use to remove all broken spark plugs. Works like a dream.

In any case, suspect spark plugs should always be taken out with an impact tool.

What is the problem with Fords and plugs?

Same here. Seen plenty of Windsor motors and never seen that before in my life. But then again if the temp is below 68 we are in a cold snap, above 72 a heat wave, and anything over heavy fog is "Storm Watch."

Ford made engines that had too few threads, and the plugs blew out of the engines.

Their solution? Make fragile plugs that thread all the way down into Beelzebub's sub-basement, so you can never get them out.

Someone I know had a Ford F150 of one of the years known for breaking off the sparkplugs. He wanted it tuned up including new sparkplugs. The mechanic wanted $700 to change the sparkplugs if he was willing to do it, and he was not willing to do it. He said he prices it as if every sparkplug will break off.
