Here is the problem we are working on a 1996 plymouth voyager with the 3.3 v6 which had a check engine light on ok so it said po340 and we changed the cam position sensor.. ok cool mini van started reset check engine light and then two days later it did not want to start it cranked but would not start immediatly, about 3 minutes later van started but light was on again... Now it seems to be fine but i am using a hand held obd 2 code reader from wal-mart our regular snap on is not working.. so now the check engine light is off but the yellow light is on the code reader saying it wont pass emmisions does anyone know how long it will take to reset also we purchased the cam position sensor from advanced auto does anyone know if their sensors are any good? our regular guy did not have one in stock..
One more thing this happened when it was raining and the sensor could have been damp
Any ideas would be helpful :)

It may simply be telling you that is won't pass emissions because it has not gone through enough start/stop cycles.
This prevents someone from clearing the codes and immediately running the car through an emissions check.
Up to 50 starts can be required.

You have to go through a "drive cycle" so the PCM can test the cat converters. That is always the last check to clear.

Usually a drive at a steady speed, at part throttle, for about 1/2 hour will suffice, but every OEM has different requirements.
