Hey y'all,

The blower motor has been acting up on my 95 Tahoe for a few weeks now. The first time it simply wouldn't come on at all. The next time I got in the truck it worked fine, and kept working for a few days. Now it doesn't work at all. I checked the fuses and the 25 amp fuse for the blower was blown, but after replacing it with a new fuse, it still didn't function. I've been told the resistor is a very common issue on these trucks, but how do I check to see what is wrong?

Thanks

I would try to see if the blower works on any speed. Often if the blower fan stops, it doesn't work on the lower speeds , but will work on the highest speed. That will tell you the blower fan is working and the resistor is burned out on the lower speeds and needs to be replaced. If you think about it, you usually use only the lowest 1st or 2nd speeds and that is prob. why these burn out first. If the fan doesn't work on any speed, you prob. have a bad fan. I am not familiar with the Tahoe, but on many GM cars the fan and the resistor are under the dash-pass. side- above the feet of the pass. On cars, you can access the housing that contains the blower motor and the resistor w/o removing the dash. You lay out your tools on the pass. seat and lie on your back to get to it. Much easier than removing the dash! Good luck and let us know what you find.
