Went to change oil for the last time before the cold and all the sudden... hood wont open or respond at all.
1991 chevy caprice B body.
I look under the front towards where the latch is and having the latch pulled while i'm watching shows nothing moving, it doesn't seem to be a sticky latch that could use a wiggle or just needs a little WD40... nothing moves at all. The hand-latch moves fine I mean, and the cable moves internally, but nothing releases on the front end - it just kind of shifts the angle around (showing that the other end of the cable is still internally doing something, just seemingly not what it should, and it's not detached or anything on the hood side either) but nothing trips or opens. Banging the hood doesn't make any difference like when it was sticky...
I don't know how to trip it or get the hood up without the latch, does anyone have any suggestions? :-/
