So, yesterday, by accident, I ended up with 4x2GB Kingston DDR2 667 DIMM's. I had ordered RAM for a new build and didn't realize that the board took DDR3. RAM is so cheap right now that there was no point in sending it back.......
So out came my 2x1GB Crucial DIMM's and in went the 4x2GB Kingston's. Adding a little voltage (2.0V, they are 1.8V stock) I have them running at 771Mhz, so they are 1:1 with my FSB. They would probably go higher (my 667 Crucial DIMM's were doing 1033 with some cooling, at another FSB speed I had them as high as 1154Mhz), but having all four banks populated creates some good northbridge heat when you are overclocking, and since I'm only using air and the system runs WCG and SETI 24x7, I have left it there.
I'm loving it. I have like 30 apps open and haven't even made a dent in it, including a VMware Windows XP install with 512MB allocated.
OS is 64-bit Gentoo Linux.
