I posted on the MMO forum asking what to do and was informed what was best for my car.
I've gone ahead and replaced 16oz of oil for MMO, as well as adding 4oz of MMO to my full tank.

I drove the I5 for a little over a half an hour to make the MMO cover all that it needed. This morning I started the beast up and noticed a difference in idle, it was normal and not vibrating like it does first thing. Now it might or might not be because of this, but I would like to think so.

I have a few hundred miles to go now before my next OC, so I will wait and see until them.

p.s., What does 'OCI' refer too?

Thanks.

I remember when I started using MMO in the fuel that the car did idle smoother and was a tad more responsive.

I also remember when I added 16 ounces of MMO to my oil I noticed a difference as soon as I drove the car out of the driveway.

She's riding a little high on 14", soon back down to 13" rims.

257k showing, but the speed-cable broke, so it should be 258k

The Oil was a medium brown before I added MMO, and just now after taking the photo I noticed it is a dark black on the dip stick. So something is going on...

Don't get me wrong, I did noticed a jump in response when I left home this morning, it was a noticeable difference there. And now after taking some quick pics I see my oil is a lot darker and the inside is looking a bit cleaner than it was before.

I think you've gone about it the right way. 16 ounces is a good dose for a small engine. Everyone I've spoken with that tries MMO for the first time says they notice a difference in idle and power. Butt dino as some call it, I like to think that people that spend time here and read know about their cars, and how they idle and run. Most know when something has improved or when something has gotten worse.

Good luck and

to BITOG!

I figure another 100k.
I've replaced the trans-axles, rear bearings, and soon the clutch. I've also found a replacement engine for when the time comes, but I want to keep this one alive as long as possible.

Rebuilt engine for these 1.4's are dirt cheap.

Sorry but I do not know what 'Butt dino' refers too, I'm tech savvy, but these are new to me.

You need to use the correct aspect ratio so that the diameter of the 14" tire will be the same as 13" tire.

What is the OEM 13" tire size ? What is the 14" tire size now ?

If the OEM is 185/70-13 then you need 195/60-14 for the 14" wheel.

Butt dino is when a person feels an improvement, but can't back it up with hardcore evidence, can be good or bad depends on the context. In my case it was a compliment. I go a lot by butt dino, I know my cars well enough to notice a change good or bad in how they run.

Thanks demarpaint.

HTSS_TR: I believe they're either P175/65R-14 82T BSW Pirelli Cinturato P5, or P185/65R-14 86T BSW Pirelli Cinturato P5. 4/100

Is this bad, or good? Because I don't so much in the way of wheels.

They're off my 1994 Geo Prizm which died because of Transmission failure

At some point in the last 5 years Toyo made some 195/45R14 tires which would sharpen up the handling quite abit for you. I have two that I run on my Neon for autocross and people always do a double take as low profile tires on a small rim are rare.

The OEM tire size is 175/70-13, the correct plus one size is 185/60-14 to retain the same diameter. If your current size is 185/65-14 then it is almost 1" larger, that why the car looks funny.

There are many good 185/60-14 tires and they don't cost too much either. You can get 4 installed at America's Tire for less than $300 out of the door.

Search for Riken Raptor HR on onlinetires.com, add 4 tires to cart then select "Pick up" on next page. This will shows total $180, tax included, and bring it to America's Tire for price match, expect to pay about $70-80 for installation for 4 tires on top of $180.

That is where I bought these tires at; Americas Tire. They have a life time warranty, so I might try to exchange them for the 185/60R 14, if possible.

Nah, that doesn't even make up for the Honda odometers that count more miles than actually travelled.

I am not just saying based on what others have written on the 'net. I had a 94 Civic LX for five years from 2003 to 2008. Both its speedometer and odometer overestimated significantly, and I used the OEM tire size. I finally figured both were off by about 4%.

Granted, your 88 could be more accurate.

I cant tell what that black is but the valve spring looks nice and shiney. If anything just keep checking the oil every week or so.

I read through this thread again, and for a little over half an hour driving I'd say the MMO did some nice cleaning. I wish all engines were that easy to look into!

That's because it thinned the oil out.

Actually MMO has some lubricating properties and that is what I was feeling, I am happy with MMO and that's all that matters to me.

I'd hope it would have "some" lubricating properties, or it would be a very bad thing to add to your oil. I still believe most of the difference you noticed immediately is directly related to viscosity.
