As I've said before, I've recently started a pizza delivery job. I really want to pick up a cheap beater car that I could use for this severe service. Tomorrow I'm going to go look at an '88 Acura Legend. Does anybody know anything about these cars? Are they as reliable as other Acuras? Do they have any particular problems or anything? Any info you guys can supply will be appreciated. BTW, it's a V-6 with a 5 speed. Thanks!

I had the same vehicle. The only problem I had was a noisy valve train. It would tick, tick, tick and it drove me nuts other than that very good vehicle.

Daily Drives:
-2003 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner XtraCab, 2.7 Liter , Mobil1 Synthetic SS 5W-30.
ODO 8600 Miles.
-1995 Toyota 4-Runner 3.0 V6, Mobil1 Synthetic SS 10W-30.
ODO 85300 Miles.

Well, I went out and looked at the car. It had 186,000 miles on it. On the outside, it looked pretty good. The interior was in very good shape. The engine compartment wasn't too dirty, just the kind of dust one would expect after that many miles. I removed the radiator cap to check the condition of the coolant, and it was too low, I couldn't see any! I went to check the oil, and it didn't read on the dipstick!!! The guy added a half quart he had on hand, and it still didn't show. He started it up, and it had a terrible ticking that I'm guessing was the valves suffering from oil starvation. If the oil level and coolant levels had been okay, I probably would have seriously considered buying the car. But those low fluid levels made the decision to run easy for me!

good call, he obviously didn't take care of the car.

must have given it a good bath though.
