So got this in today. Car came in with turbo failure and customer advised it has never been serviced just the oil topped up if low. Heres the filter that came out. Also the oil drained, about half a litre but this is new oil as recovery agent tried topping it off but this oil went straight out the turbo into the DPF so about 10 litres of engine oil in the exhaust system.

The automotive caregiver in the family, me, relocated and neither my Dad nor anyone else gave a thought to checking his oil.
Heck, I was miles away and he was the only one driving his car so I don't feel completely responsible.

On holiday I performed an oil change and what you see in picture #2 is what I got out of his '83 Buick.
Pains me to this day.

I bet this car owner looks in a mirror and sees a reasonable intelligent person. Someone well informed and open minded. Takes out the trash and feeds the cat.

But could not be bothered to find and read the manual. Too much detail to learn about car care. No details please!

Car is currently mid repair and the owner who neglected the vehicle is no longer the owner as they could not afford the repair. Will go to a trade auction once fixed.

once the turbo and DPF have been replaced the engine will be ran up to temp then the oil changed again. See how it runs after that.

Well that speaks volumes. The owner living on the edge of affordability.
