6T70E trans in Impala, did these get a reflash for shift pressures?

Our 2015 Impala drives great, has occasional light flare when cold in the 2-3 and a less occasional 3-4 flare. These flares are brief..almost seems like the trans is "confused" for lack of better terms.

I did read there was a refresh for some of these 6T70's that addressed pressure issues, not sure if it was for the Impala.

With HPT, could I find out if there has been a reflash and/or are there any recommendations for dealing with this trans in regards to a tune? I understand the latter is at my own risk.

The car shifts great most of the time, fluid looks good, been changed every 50K, has 154K on it. The 2-3 light flare when cold has been doing this since about 90K miles...but only very occasional.

I looked into GM module programming when the Tech 2 could be used as a pass-through, haven't dived into it since...I would like to. I assume this would be through Techline?


Leaky pressure switch diaphragms can cause weird shifting behavior before it just blows out causing a DTC.

IF I need to pull the front cover and rerplace the diaphragms I would be up for the task. Something else that comes to mind which is not the case right now, is a while back, maybe 30K miles, the 2-3 flare happened more frequent and I had a tear in my intake boot to the TB. I found this out after a post by someone in another forum and the unmetered air from the MAP messed with the PCM and the perceived load on the engine which lowered shift pressures. Once the boot was replaced it shifted much better and rarely had a flare. This makes me think it could be a pressure issue but in the sense of programming.

Not saying the diaphragms would not be the issue as they are notorious for tearing...just a hopeful that a reflash could possible solve this.


Overkill had a good trans tune for my 2012 Impala, I don't think he does it anymore though.

Curious to what was done in the tune.
 
@clinebarger Has been about 5 years but I did log back into my account and still have an avail subscription so I will get the MDI2 setup and go from there.

Driving the car today the flare is only at light throttle, once you get into about 1/3 to 1/.2 throttle it shifts good, almost no preceivable flare.
