I knew the Ultra was getting harder to find, but just got back from hitting 6 places to get PP 5w30. And the 6th place now only has a few quarts left (I bought 5). No jugs unless one wants PYB.
Is the PP following PU availability track record?
Matter of fact, none of the places had any PU. Plenty of PYB. I would have got the PU, but no dice.

So now I have the PP 5w30 on hand for next OC for one of the vehicles, but wondering what will I do next round. I might have to go to another oil if this continues. I have a few k's to go before I do the PP OC, but Pennzoil shouldn't let this happen, or the local sellers.

When it comes to PP and PU....its a case of buy it if you see it,miss out if you pass it by.

Not the case here. I went to 6 stores because earlier this morning my wife & friend went to Walmart and she checked (on cell in store and no PU or PP in jugs or quarts). So I took off to get PP or PU if PP not available.
Now checking online for availability in Walmart stores in my area I get "This product is not currently available for pickup at any Walmart stores in your area".
One of the places I checked was on base BX. They usually stock PP & PYB (not PU). They had none. There was plenty of PYB, RP, QS etc., but I was after PP/PU.

You got that right. What do I have to do, buy out $500 or so, whatever they get, whatever it takes to clean em out.
This may affect my future OCs. I should be able to go to a local O'Rs, AZ and get Pennzoil synthetic oils.
Will keep an eye out but may consider another product if PP/PU products continue being scarce.

Just can't say the same here.... insane

No such luck here in SFO bay area. Although PP stock is very good in WMs around here...Mobil is HUGE though...tons of shelf space...almost tripple the shelf space for each of the other brands and that is considering only mobil full synthetics. If I count the M5Ks, then that would make about half the shelf space of total oil shelf space. Margins must be much higher on Mobil.

One trend I am seeing is Mobil is moving...the shelfs are cleared out much faster then Pennzoil or QS. Mobil EPs don't last more than a few days after replenishment. Castrol Syns are probably slowest to move. I visit there every week just hoping that I will hit the lotto and find some jugs of PU.

My wife is getting worried now, to the point where I think she may even order a PU jug from somewhere for some exorbitant price and work with the WM manager to get it on the shelf (that too with a huge rollback) just before I get there next time so that I can "find it" and buy it and snap out of the syndrome! (I hope my wife reads this :))
