6.7 Powerstroke Diesel Injectors failing at low mileage?

Update...taking truck to a local Ford dealership next Thursday. Will explain situation again and show them Mattd's suggestions. Really hoping to get this resolved. Will update once I know more. Appreciate all the help. Thanks again @mattd. Have a great weekend all.
Update...

The Ford tech ran tests and checked everything. Looks like a bad PCM. They are ordering PCM and also changing crank case filter. Not cheap...but cheaper than a new rig. Next will consider fuel pump Update and Def delete (due to recent legislation).

I also had truck in years ago (6 years?) for dash going dim for random periods of time and truck center said it was my Scanguage causing it...I could never duplicate when at dealership. That was while under warranty and service guy said he would see if I can get any help towards PCM...probably not as Ford didn't help with 3rd upper oil pan out of warranty.

Appreciate the help...was hoping for a cheaper solution...but got to pay to play with these diesels...which are wonderful on a motorhome.

Make it a great day all.

Thanks for the update, helpful information.

I am not tracking DEF delete is now an acceptable practice. Some discussions there may not be enforcement. Lots of non operational second and third hand effects from DEF delete, from trade in value to denial of warranties due to non manufacturer modifications.

I would love to due DEF delete, but will only have it done by a Ford dealer under a Ford bulletin.

In shop now for PCM and crank case filter. Fingers crossed.

Wow, thats horrible! It's frustrating to lose all that time, all that money and be no further ahead. I wish you the best!
Yeah. I found a thread on another forum where an individual seemed to have the same issue but never returned to update status/conclusion. Not sure what to think at this point? Will keep it updated for sure.. good or bad. Take care all...happy Friday.

I could have told you that. PCM failures are not common. It’s a shame there are no good diagnostic techs out there. I’d offer to look at it for you, but you’re quite a distance.

As I said before you have wiring or ground problem, last possible cause is some kind of electrical interference

I’d make them credit it the pcm back to you and put the old one back in.

Update...tech rechecked everything again...even put in another new injector and pigtail. Even had another tech come over and make sure he wasn't missing anything. They are keeping my PCM and left new one installed and opened a case with Ford Engineering.

I think you are right...I'm convinced not the PCM at all. Service guy said tech ran pin tests, etc, etc. Wish I was closer to you. I cut and pasted your suggestions on a blank word document...so tech read it (I hope?). See what Ford Engineering comes up with? Kind of getting worried...

Have a wonderful weekend all.

I do appreciate your professional help and advice. Thanks for checking in on this again. Hopefully, Ford Engineering will give them some guidance? Otherwise, I guess I will just live with it?

Other than having my Scanguage II plugged in and alarm installed since new I've not added any devices or anything that would interfere?

Take care and thanks again.

Shouldn’t, but I am curious how the alarm system is tied in and what it disables for a possible theft, I assume not a factory alarm?

No, not factory. It is a device that I swipe under the steering column that allows the truck to be started. It has been there since 2014 and 48,000 miles without any issues...but I presume it could be causing something? At this point anything is possible?

Believe it is a sensor mounted in the steering column that allows starter to be activated...you think that might be a problem? Not sure why it took 10 years to start being a problem? Heck I'm open to anything.

No, more than likely not, especially if you’ve had it there 10 years. If it was tied into the injector circuits then I would say possible yes but if it just is a starter interrupter then more than likely not a problem

How was that aftermarket alarm installed? Did they use those crap Scotchlok wire taps? I've seen those create issues years down the road.
It was installed by the RV dealer...so my guess is they probably used crap stuff. Maybe should figure out how to remove to rule out? Doesn't get me any insurance credit and is an annoyance. Looks like they don't make it anymore so not sure how to get instructions so I can uninstall. Definitely something to rule out...crazy if that could be causing this.

Some have reported battery drain issues with Magic Alarm...saw this.

Maybe will look into this and see if this helps?
