5w40 too heavy?

AND: I failed to state on my above post that the 15W-40 gave me the best wear metals results so far. AND, I was instructed the oil at time of analysis appears to be good for 10k miles. It's still in the car. The UOA was posted in early May.

5W40 being thick!!! no way. I am using 5W40 in my 1990 golf and I feel like running tab water instead of oil. Seriously I feel bad for using such a thin oil in my car. All my friends who own VW use 20W50
 
Yes, Motorbike, I guess they did. They were really fun little cars to drive. I certainly had my days in them. And, 20W-50 was it.
