I got 3 jugs left of Kirkland full syn 5w30 I bought for for my Maverick. I don’t drive the truck that often and is gonna take a while to get to 5K oil changes. The 1.0 in the focus got a new motor 3K ago and currently on a road trip and will be close to an oil change afterwards. You think the 5w30 will be fine running instead of the 5w20?

The 5w30 is a better option for that engine. The 5w20 was spec'd for fuel savings standards imposed by the US Government. Do a Google Search using CAFE in the search bar.

I don't think 5W-30 will hurt it, but it was actually designed in conjunction with a special Castrol 5W-20 as I understand it. I don't believe It is imported into the USA. I wouldn't be surprised to find out it has a higher HTHS than out 5W-20.

Most-all BITOGERS know most factory oils used have beefed-up add-packs to aid break-in.
You knew that, even before I found this website.
Good to see you posting more regularly again Gene.
