Does anyone do 5 year services anymore? I will be changing coolant, plugs, transmission, and power steering fluid in the next year. Vehicle will be at 5 years since build date so checked manual with most of these are to done at 10 year mark except short trips , police, taxi etc at 6 years. My lifetime speed at less than 25mph so it's considered severe.

I adjust my maintenance schedules at home and work between time/miles/hours at some self defined compromise. Not a rigid schedule - I adjust as I go, shortening some and lengthening others as I gain experience with the vehicles and equipment. Belts and hoses last a LONG time. My workplace tractors are relatively low use - I change the hytran fluid at six years (about 700 hours, vs. 1200 book OCI) because moisture starts accumulating.

Yes, your attention to preventive maintenance will play out well.

Do whatever you think is necessary without overdoing it?
Of course, it depends on what kind of car we are talking about.

For example for a lot of american cars, the transmission fluid is a yearly maintenance or 30K miles.
So that means, you need to do it the 5th year also.
etc.
