I estimate this trailer was around 8000lbs. Just the crushed stone was 6500 lbs. I only had to drive a mile to my house from the quarry but it handled it just fine:

Little 4lo action with the trailer.

My parents 02’ 4Runner SR5. It had 165k on it before it was rear ended by the Blue Tacoma. No one was hurt, but it was definitely a sad day. It was parked by our hedges and the dude had to by flying because you have to turn onto our street. The 4Runner ended up in the middle of the street before it was pushed back to where it’s pictured. Happened back in 2017.

You Will Not Believe The Markups This Dealer Is Putting On Toyota 4Runners

They want you to know, it's because of limited availability

The car market is screwed up right now. The combination of a chip shortage and a shortage of used cars has led to previously unimaginable prices. Dealers can’t get their hands on product and some, see this as an opportunity to cash in.

As Reddit user u/Astroalpha2 pointed out, Long Island, NY Toyota dealership Millennium Toyota is trying to get as much as they can out of customers shopping for a 4Runner.

4Runners have a following (and some market defying value retention.) It’s no surprise Toyota sold nearly 130,000 last year. A lot of owners actually use them as intended, which is why Toyota gave it four different TRD trims: TRD Off-Road for $40,730, TRD Off-Road Premium for $43,325, and TRD Pro for $50,745.

Millenium Toyota, as of this writing, has just five 4Runners in stock, three of those are TRD models. And all three have markups. The MSRP is $52,753. They tack on a $23,000 markup for a total price of $75,753. That’s Lexus money. And the reason? Literally written on the sign: “Limited availability”....more

2005 4Runner, 4.0 v6, 302k and it's mostly previous owner miles out of New Mexico, little old lady story that became reality, her kids made her trade it in after she came to visit them in Minnesota, she must of really like it to have driven it up here with 296k when I bought it. Dealer wholesale at $2k and I wasn't even going to go look at it knowing I'd probably buy it, walked out of a huge garage sale at the fairgrounds, saw another 4Runner, then had to go look...Drove fine enough and no overheating or misfire codes.

The paint has a sand blast pattern that I'm thinking should just be clear-coated. I'm sure it'll see 500k easily. It snowed just before I parked it, never got driven in this weather, and that's one reason why I don't have a classic, but taking ownership of this one has been much like owning something classic you can't drive half the year...

The new wheels and tires make it IMO.

You really should run a nice M1 0/40 in these 4.0 engines..your missing a wonderful experience in any climate, give it a try.

These will run forever on anything.

At 10,300 miles, I just changed the oil for the 2nd time on ours.

1st OCI was M1-AP 0W-20, at around 2900 miles. Went with that because id gotten a bunch of that oil for $2/qt in late 2019 during the Auto Zone clearance. And, it was winter.

This time, I went with M1-EP 10W-30 ($9.47 plus tax for a 5-quart jug after rebate). Definitely smoothed the engine a bit, especially helped with the buzziness it had at >4500 RPM.

I like M1 oils. Nice that it’s almost never necessary to pay full price for them!

I’d run other oils if they’d run good rebates on them like M1 does.

I also still have enough Valvoline Modern Engine 0W-20 and M1-AP 0W-20 (also obtained during the AZ clearance) for a few OCIs. And I’ll use it up for winter time oil changes. Got all that because the wife had a Civic 1.5T at the time (and I couldn’t turn down all that good oil for 2 bucks a qt).

However, if specifically buying oil for the 4Runner (or my Tacoma), the thinnest I’d go would be a 30 grade.

If I could get a great deal on it, I’d absolutely run M1 0W-40 in either of my trucks.

Here’s my wife’s old 2014 GX just before it got traded in on a Yukon XL. It was a great vehicle with zero issues in 53,000 miles, we just needed a bigger vehicle at the time.

Can’t imagine going from that Lexus to a GMC. Did you look at Sequoia’s?

No, not really. Not enough space behind the 3rd row in a Sequoia. Looked at LX570s but same issue with space. It was between a long wheelbase Expedition/Navigator or a GM product. The Denali was faster, larger, got better mpg, towed more and had more features, but it also cost more than the GX. Now we got a 2021 Z71 Suburban that she loves and it’ll be 5-10 years before we go to something smaller.
