I used Maxlife for my DIY flush. Had to go to 2 different WallyWorld stores just to get 3 gallons.
Dropped pan, replaced filter with Napa brand. Pulled radiator AT outlet, fixed a hose to a bucket and started engine while filling through dipstick. Still dark red after 3 gallons. Back to Wally world I go. No Maxlife, so I bought 2 gallons of conventional Valvoline DexIII/Merc.(blue jug) it took 1.5 more gallons before it started coming out bright red. So total of 4.5 gallons used to flush/exchange the fluid.
Now I got a mix of Maxlife and valvoline DexIII in there.
Oh well, manual says fluid/filter change every 50k miles, so I'll be better prepared for the next fluid exchange.
I did use Sefoam Transtune in the AT a couple days before the flush. The fluid turned from brownish red to almost black within 30 miles. So I think I got some good cleaning before the flush.
Trans works great. No change in shift feel after the flush.
Thanks for all the advice!
