Exactly what I determined shortly after I bought my Ranger with the 10R80. I started fluid changes early and often. I do a spill and fill every other oil change.I have more experience with the fords than GM but usually valve body problems arise from fine metal particles that contaminate the fluid and cause the valves to hang up. I can’t imagine it’s much different for GM. Metal can be from the torque converter, P3 planet and steel plates typically.
