Will 4.3 marine heads work in a 4.3 truck engine? If they are Vortec heads, will they work on a non-Vortec engine. Vehicle in question is a 1991 Chevrolet K1500.
A 4.3 marine head is the same as a 4.3 truck head. You just need to make sure the heads you're looking at have the same number of bolt holes as your intake manifold. 87-95 has 12 bolts, 96 and up is 8 bolts.
I don’t know if the 4.3 vortex heads are like the v8 one but the manifold bolt pattern is different than regular SBC heads. There is an aftermarket intake to use vortex heads with factory TBI. I assume there may be something for the v6 since there is a small segment of performance parts for it.
