I work at a repair shop part time and one thing we will sometimes push along with tune ups (probably [censored]) are 3m fuel system treatments...

Basically a bottle of tank additive, a can of throttle plate cleaner to clean inside the throttle body and throttle linkage and a can of "cleaner" which gets connected to a hose that gets fed into the engine just before the throttle body.
How effective is this stuff when it comes to actually cleaning the top end of the motor? How effective is the additive by itself? the reason I ask is because I will not always add the entire bottle if the gas tank is not full, so there are plenty of half empty bottles around the shop which I put in my tank here and there. Is the 3m stuff better than techron?
