Friend forgot to change oil and filter geeeesh.
He went 34 k miles on Pennzoil Ultra with Mobil 1 filter....on a 2.4 Toyota Camry.
What, if any damage do we have? Engine does seem a little noisy now, but maybe my imagination.

Is your friend's name N300? Since many of your posts have to do with a 2005 Camry 2.4 and an Mobil 1 filter.

Nobody knows for sure. Just change it and hope for the best.

A used oil analysis would be nice. Damage, w/o a compression test, and visual inspection only time will tell. How low was it on oil?

At this point in time its a moot point, the damage if any is done.

It really doesn't matter because it is done. Oil under the bridge though it would be fun to have seen a used oil analysis.

What kind of lumps and bits came out with the oil...

Actually, I would not be to worried unless it's making noise. But I'd be doing some short OCI's with Rotella T6 and I'd be fitting the biggest filter that will physically fit. Area counts. Fram Ultra filter at least, more likely WIX or Baldwin

What about the data you've provided seems sufficient to give the kind of response you're requesting?

MORE INFO IS NEEDED

HAAAaaa no it wasn't me , even though I have the same car which is a 2005 Camry. I don't do mistakes like that with my car or trucks.
Well the oil did come out thick , no chunks; and there was no oil needed or added in that many miles. OIL cap looks good and clean and no sludge looking in and feeling under the cover. He has 105 k miles on it now.
The engine idles good and smooth.....don't know what to tell him.

[quote Engine does seem a little noisy now, but maybe my imagination. [/quote]

A driver I knew years ago called the company mechanic complaining about a noise in in his Macks motor. Mech. said "It's your imagination, drive it".
Next call driver said "My imagination came out the side of the block".

I would do an engine flush, then refill with fresh Pennzoil Ultra and the best filter you can find. My favorite filter is Amsoil Ea with the Donaldson synthetic filter media; Wix/Napa Gold is second.

And otherwise keep driving, what's done is done.
