A pal needs to service a Walbro carburetor from an old Homelite string trimmer.
On carb: WT 718 J8

On the motor's plastic housing: ST 175.

Can someone look up a carb kit please. TIA.

In all likelihood, going electric is not an option.
I've used the very machine my pal is refreshing to clear around rowboats on trailers and farm equipment being readied for sale.
He's on the phone with ereplacementparts now.

I swear I keep forgetting how instantaneous and specific Google searches can be. Thanks

A friend gave me a Homelite chain saw, after he couldn't get it started, and bought a different machine. The fuel line for the clunk in the tank was melted, so I cleaned out the entire fuel system and replaced the lines. Sounds easy, but keeping the fuel line from kinking is anything but easy. Very frustrating. I wound up buying a couple different types of line, and still never got it to work consistently.

Last time I need a small carb I found one on eBay. The thing is, when I searched for the carb by generator, the prices were noticeably higher then when I searched for a carb for a specific engine, and I had more choices.

Jackssmallengines.com used to be good.
Looks like it got purchased by Northern Tool.

I’ve bought cheap carbs from Amazon for $10-$15 bucks for an old snowblower & lawnmower that worked great. Be sure you can return it for credit if it doesn’t work.
Sometimes the carb doesn’t match the picture. Fuel line going in the wrong direction, etc.

Cheaper than using carb cleaners.

Original is usually best if you can find parts.

+1 get a new carb as suggested above. I am suggesting strongly because of my experience fixing neighbors mowers, generators and pressure washers. Ed
