I was looking for some sockets for my old 3/4 ratchet and saw this on Amazon. Seems like a good deal so I bought it. Just break out another $50 I tell myself. I guess this isn’t the link but is the item. HD sells the same thing as Husky for $109 but no more metric sets. This metric set sells for $120 on eBay. The ratchet is included.

Crescent CTK14ME 3/4-Inch Metric Mechanics Tool Set, 14-Piece

Bought on Amazon. Sockets look better than the ultra cheap ones, will wait to see it. I forgot it has the other goodies in there too. It must be a clearance, HD not showing a metric set, Husky looks identical.

I need a 3/4 SAE set. I’m getting ready to put shocks on my dads Freightliner. I have a large 3/4 ratchet and 3 sockets none of them are the size I need which is 1 1/8 and 1 1/16. I have the 1/2 inch ones in those sizes but all the heavy duty guys said use 3/4 drive or an impact and I don’t have access to air there so I’ll have to get the 3/4 drive. I’ll probably just buy them individually though at either Lowe’s or Northern Tool.

You do not need 3/4 for most truck stuff. My I.R. 231 will do most any job on one.

Yeah I have a 1/2 inch impact but no access to air there where it’s parked. I don’t have an electric 1/2 or I’d use that instead. The biggest 1/2 ratchet I have is 18 inches.

Does it run? You can make up an adapter to use the air from the air brake system.

Do you need a 3/4” set, or a set of 3/4” impacts? Different propositions.

My 3/4” set goes from 7/8” to 2”. Great set of hand sockets The ratchet is ridiculous- about five lbs of steel. Close to 18” long. Gigantic. It dwarfs the 1/2” torque wrench in the drawer with it. 1/2” sockets on the right, 3/4” on the left.

It was not cheap.

Probably just regular but I do like the impacts in case I would ever need them. Is that your Williams ones?

Yeah, that’s my Williams set. I actually bought the sockets and 3/4” drive separately, because it was cheaper. I didn’t need the metal box that came with the kit.

It was close to $350 for both, new, from tools delivered. The Packard has some large bolts a few close to 1 3/4 but to be quite honest, this set was an indulgence.

I haven’t used them in the year I’ve owned them. They just look pretty in the drawer!

😉

That ratchet looks beefy, really sweet!

I really did not need a 3/4 set but for $50 why not lol.

It came UPS second day air. Really nice set, can't expect it to have every mm step in sockets. Amozon has so much money they don't care about every dollar I guess. It weighs about as much and the case is the size of a floor jack. Apex tools makes it in Taiwan.
