Yeah Stop-Start, we have it and I disabled most of time.
But not always at the most important time of the day, when we park. Our driveway in a slight incline, requiring a brake firm brake press to hold the vehicale on the incline, engine stops. Shift to Park while still holding the brakes and the engine starts ( the stop-start does that) , then we stop the engine in Park. this all happens under a few seconds.
Repeat this over and over again and unburnt fuel is in cylinders ! I guess this is diluting the oil on the rings ! ( Lake Speed jr recent video was on this topic)
Am an pretty sure than in all the cylinders the scoring is more pronounced under this port in green. The Direct fuel injector ?. this car has dual port and direct injectors don't know when each type fires.
Update : straight from the Toyota TIS for this 2019 Highlander, Factory plugs are have gap that goes from .0276 to .0315 !, and the gap can be as high as .0433 !
As per my last oil change 3000KM ago no. but I never really took an active look at that. Over oil change I remove about 5.4 Liters of oil which is the capacity of this engine. I will be monitoring the oil levels going forward on weekly basis, The next I things I should do I guess is take the compression of each cylinders to establish the baseline.
To free-up the rings I will try the HP engine clean, unless other suggestions come forward. Solutions like B12 chem piston socking would be a real pain on this engine because of the work required to get at the 3 back pistons : removal of the air intake manifold is pain. The other pain is HP engine clean and B12 chem are not available in Canada.
