Hey look at this stuff made up with a ester base oil . He He , strike back at the SM oils with this stuff cut down to a lower dose with the big zinc/phos it carries .

They have another type TBN additive with more boron per the data sheet .... so let's see .

$57.00 a gallon = *** a pint and take 4 ounces out of that pint = so many cents per treat ..............

Well geez, I could just dump some lye into any ol brand of motor oil and get nearly infinite TBN. Doesn't mean it would be any good as a lubricating oil.

There is a certain fallacy about relying too much upon TBN as the only statistic of oil quality or longevity.

Thats like 3400-3500 ppm zinc there .

Nice n thick too just like low cost oils with 3k miles on them ............. like it

Oh BTW , I'm not saying this stuff is what every car trunk needs . I see these products and think

why not discuss them ?

You would only need a few ounces of this stuff for the whole crankcase. I like it. Too bad it's not in smaller bottles.

Well, I guess if you had an oil that worked really well with your engine. Its visc/flashpoint/etc. stayed in line for a very long time ..but had to be swapped out ONLY because of TBN ..then this would be a decent product. No need to swap the filter out to replenish additives ...just an "LC" type dose ..and you're good to go for another 5k or more.

Marine applications could also benefit. Delvac 1 SHC Marine has a TBN of 16 ...but is only available in 55 gallon drums (and if I had the economic clout I once had ..I'd have a drum of that stuff in my garage RIGHT NOW!!!

I agree with Gary.

Looks like an application for Marine Engines which use high sulfur fuels.

Infineum already has an additive for Marine lubes.

their oils look like redline's arch enemy, using boron like redline uses moly.

The TBN booster with 500ppm Boron has Calcium 5.93-7.45%wt and a TBN of 157-173! So 1 oz/qt would boost TBN by adout 5. The specific gravity is >1.

It seems to serve a purpose. Price isn't too high when split into a dozen OCIs. Might even be cost effective for someone with a bunch of vehicles who wants to push the OCI higher.
Also, the retail price list is just that. I think if someone were to distribute it(or rename it for themselves), they'd probably have a good sale price. Any entrepreneurs out there?

If I ever go with bypass filter and become too lazy for OCIs, I'd try something to keep the TBN safe. Powerservice oil additive is sold at wallyword and a jug treats many gallons of oil. Oilextreme and luboron also come to mind.

I'd love to see VOAs on some of their products to see if it matches the specs.

Since jbchem is a mfg and willing to relabel, I wonder how many products out there might just be the same in a different bottle.

I don't know if anyone here has priced LuBoron but it's fairly expensive . I dismissed this particular product 919 at first because of the Fe but then remembered it well could be from the high concentration of an additive .

I have all I need in an oil so I'll not plug the brand here but I sure am thinking about trying this with some API SM dino in two Ford family cars . Just at low treat rates to prevent possible additive fallout with the groupII and II+ base oils .

Just for fun ....ehh ?
