22 Colorado Chipped Paint

Knock on the wood the truck has been very reliable the last 2.3 years. But it's not without its flaws. The paint on the driver's side door and driver's side passenger door is chipping/peeling away. I had thought maybe power washing did this, but it's occurring on the other door now so I think it's just a quality issue with this particular part. Dealer is going to cover it under warranty. I pulled right up, service manager took phots and sent it up to GM. Covered.

I have a '21 in the same color...I have actually been impressed with the paint quality, and how durable it has been. Glad GM stood behind it.

My coworker has a 2014 Sierra in brown that had a paint chipping issue. Bottom of the drivers door. It didn't appear to be from damage. The brown paint just flaked off leaving the primer exposed. Maybe just bad adhesion?

I think this was a defective bunch of door handles. It looks like the paint didn't adhere for some reason. Paint is good otherwise IMO.

I don't see any GMs of that year that have good paint. It tends to fall off in chunks.
Seems like GM had trouble with paint adhesion and their galvanized body panel process.
And the rear wheel arches tend to rust through.
2017s are ok so far, anything older looks bad. The road salt used in this area doesn't help of course.

This is a 2019 Silverado just traded in. 85,000 miles. Front fenders, the paint is coming off in chunks. Rear fenders, paint is fine. The inconsistency in finish durability is puzzling to say the least.

Given the shortage of used inventory in our market, definitely paint is the way to go.
Major $ hit our market recently and inventory is low.

Yeah just handles. Could have been made a bit better.
